"Come Away O' Human Child"
Hello fellow dreamer,
Ever since I was child, the core of who I am has always felt as though it belonged to a different realm. A realm of dramatic landscapes, castles shrouded in mist, moss covered stone circles & tales of mysterious creatures lurking in dark forests or retold by candlelight. These lands of fairytale & folklore are where I feel most at home.
The fairytales & legends that we hold in our hearts are like a warm blanket on a cold, damp, rainy day; they are nostalgia made tangible just by turn the pages of a page in a book. Those stories have helped me through my worst days & greatest joys. In fact, when I was young, one of my most prized possession was the book "A Midsummer Night's Faery Tale" by Wendy Froud & Terri Windling (I still have my same copy today!)
I've always dreamt about capturing & recreating that same sense of enchantment from those distant realms by channeling the deep & moody as well as the soft & whimsical to whisk the viewer away through a mystical portal. From smallest details, like the flick of a flowy dress, windblown strands of hair caressing a cheek, or an engraved hilt of a gilded sword to large, picturesque vistas and sweeping landscapes, I invited you to journey with me to chronicle the magic found not just around us, but within us.
